Trip Report part 5 - City of Bangkok
After having the best time in Hong Kong, we continued with our RTW to Bangkok in Thailand. There was only one reason we decided to make Bangkok a stop in this trip and that is shopping. Bangkok is known for its fabulous fakes (Versace, Burberry, Dolce & Gabanna etc.). You see they are actually made in the real factory as the originals, but they dump them on markets in Thailand. The other stuff goes to the USA, Europe and the rest of the world and sold for very high prices.
We flew from HKG to BKK with 747-400 from China Airlines CI. The flight was short and pretty uneventfull. We landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport in the early afternoon and took a cab to the hotel.

We just dumped our bags in the room and then took a cab to MBK Center (Mahboonkrong) to do some serious shopping. We bought bags, leather jackets, jeans... you name it, we bought it!

After that we grabbed a bite to eat at the food court and then haeded back to the hotel, where we just dumped our bags.
By the time we came out of MBK it was dark
We decided to go to a Kathoi show. Anybody who has been to Thailand, knows what a kathoi is. Kathoi is a 'Lady Boy'. Boys who via an operation became women.... a transexual. Thailand is full of them. Sometimes, you cannot even tell the difference!

After the show we got a snack from a truck and headed back to the hotel to eat. I hardly ever eat stuff from the street in a strange country, but anybody who has been to Thailand can tell you that Thai food is excellent! Seriously! We went to th room from Lesley and Thomas and stuffed our face and had an evening of laughs!

... striptease! Wait untill his girlfriend reads abiut this!
Back in our rooms, R. and I started to remove all the labels from the stuff we bought and made them look used. "Cause you know... Schiphol customs when we head back home :-( Then we went to Lalaland...
The next morning we got up and headed into town to have breakfast and just walk around the city a little.

Around noon we headed back to the hotel, checked out and took a cab to Suvarnabhumi. We checked in at Swiss International, headed to the gate and boarded our A340 flight that would take us to Singapore.

There were already passengers on the plane from Zürich, so we couldn't sit together. It wasn't a major problem, because the flight was less than 2 hours anyway. And so we ended our Bangkok part of the trip and we were now headed to our final destination, before heading back home. It is the place we would open the New Year.
Ladies & Gentlemen, welcome to Singapore...

Ryan is in Parijs voor zijn werk. hij zal vanmiddag weer in Nederland aanwezig zijn.
Klopt ja! Ik zag hem van de week bij de AH op Rotterdam Centraal en hij zei dat hij op de Thalys wachte om naar Frankrijk te gaan.
I definitely would not want a life like that. I mean, I need some peace ass well. All that travelling up and down would get me sick and tired. I thought he reduced his workload to 75% to travel less.

No Micheline. He is NOT travelling a lot. he is just in Paris. Remember it's Air France we are talking about. He is now a Supervisor, so he needs to attend meetings in Paris and of course training. The travelling was never a problem, it's the length of time he was in the exterior was the problem.
