HK: Day 7
Ramada Kowloon Hotel, Hong Kong - Local time 23.10
The project has come to an end. This morning we woke up and Brenda and me went right to work at the AF office in Victoria. Grietje did other stuff at HKG airport, while Freddy is busy doing preparation for our upcoming project in Shanghai. It seems kind of ridiculous doesn’t it? I mean we can be in Shanghai within 2 hours by plane from Hong Kong, yet we have to fly back all the way to Amsterdam and then back on a 13 hour flight to Shanghai.
Around 15.00 Grietje called us to inform her that everything was done on her side. We were also done. So we compiled all the data, spreadsheets, documents and information into a digital file. We called AFC Holland and AFC France to standby on AFNet (something like MSN), so we could send the file over the internet to them in a secure way. Within 10 minutes both Holland and France had the files. So now another team that is down will take over the file and make a final presentation to our client Finnair in Helsinki the end of this month. We thanked everyone at the airport and office for their help and support and said goodbye. We won’t be seeing them again.
Back at the hotel, Grietje contacted staffco to see if we could get a flight for tonight, but it wasn’t possible. Both AF and KLM were overbooked. Cathay Pacific would put us on the list, but only on standby. So we decided to go tomorrow instead. Staffco couldn’t tell us which flight as yet, so we will find out in the morning. I hope it is a direct flight. I hate making connections. Th worst is transferring through London Heathrow or Paris Charles de Gaulle. What retarded airports :-(
Since it was our last day, we decided to have one last day of sightseeing, before we leave this beautiful city.

We did last minute shopping in Mongkong Road

... and some more in Ladies Street

We visited a factory where they let us see how they make Chinese silk
'
And even Grietje was allowed to participate

Check out this pay phone! You can make a call, send a fax and email! That's China for you!
During the city tour we got to talking to some Americans on vacation in Hong Kong and they invited us to have a dim sum dinner. It was fun and the food was good.

Thanks for dinner
Later we went to the place to be during happy hour in Hong Kong... Joe Bananas. There I enjoyed my Vodka Cranberry and Bacardi Breezers.

Joe Bananas
After we said goodbye to the Americans we headed back to the hotel by taxi. I can truly say I enjoyed my short stay here in Hong Kong. It is a city that everyone should visit once in their lifetime.

This billboard says it all. City of Life: Hong Kong is it!
Tomorrow we will checkout the hotel at 12.00. Then we will go out for lunch at a restaurant and at 15.00 we will take a taxi from the hotel to the airport. We have to be there at 16.00. We already told the front desk to have a taxi waiting for us.
Now I’m going to start packing my bags, take a shower and go to bed.
Slaap lekker iedereen!
