Day 3 in Busan
The Westin Chosun Beach Resort, Busan - Local time 20.44
After breakfast at 06.00, we went to work. The 3 of us split up and each did different stuff as this was the easiest and fastest way to get things done. The 3 guys in Gimpo are almost done with their side of the work and are flying back to Seoul Thursday morning and there they will await us. We're also hoping to be done by Thursday, so we can head back to Seoul by Friday morning. Grietje called staffco to see if they could arrange a flight for us to Seoul instead of the train. We came with the train, because all the flights between Seoul and Busan were full. We're all hoping to be back in Holland by Saturday.
While in Busan we are working with Amid Bhugwansing, the local Djoser rep. He's a very nice guy and fun to work with. After work today Grietje, Brenda and me met up at the Djoser office in the city center and Amid offerd to carry us out to dinner at a Korean restaurant.

Amid Bhugwansing

Korean cuisine. Just like almost every country in Asia, the food is served buffet style on a plateau and is eaten with chopsticks

Eating with chopsticks is very easy as you can see in this picture I've taken a few months ago in a Malaysian restaurant in Kuala-Lumpur
After dinner, we said goodbye to Amid and the 3 of us went walking around in the city center and city park.

Me in the city park with an elderly Korean lady. I didn't understand anything she said and she didn't understand me, but who cares. The friendliness of Koreans can be spotted in this picture. A picture that is worth a 1000 words...
Busan is a real hot tourist spot and I recommend anyone ever travelling to South Korea not to skip Busan. When it got dark, we headed to the night market, where you can buy loads of cheap brand stuff. It's a pity you are not allowed to import fake things into Holland. If the Marechausee at Schiphol catches you, you can get a fine up to a €1000,- and the stuff gets taken away and is burned! So it's just not worth it.

The Night Market in Busan
I didn't buy anything, but Grietje and Brenda bought some local art stuff from some Korean guy who claimed to be famous. Yeah right... I've never heard about him in my life and I know a lot about Asia, since it's my specialty at AFC.

Grietje and Brenda with this so-called famous guy. Hmmmm...
After that we headed back to the hotel by bus. What a trip that was! We got on a wrong bus and ended up in some weird part of town. We got lost! Hahahahahha! No one spoke English, so we couldn't ask for directions. Finally after walking around for a while, we found a metro station and found ourself back to the hotel. It was an adventure. Hey... you live, you learn, right?

Well being around Robin's family, I should think you should be able to eat with chopsticks... hello!
Mom
Hahahah! Good one! Your mother is funny!
Anyway great post and I hope to see you back in Holland by the weekend.
Les
Mitchell!~Op die foto van jou in Maleisië met die chopsticks hè.. Wat de f*ck ben je aan het eten? Een worm? een schorpioen? Ziet er niet lekker uit in ieder geval. Bah!

@ Mom: No comments! How is Montréal? Still cold?
@ Lesley: I hope to be back by this weekend as well. Robin is coming back from LAX on Saturday where he is at the moment for a wedding with his cousins Andries and Ashwaia
@ Micheline: It may look weird, but it's delicious. I don't eat everything of course.
@ Lop: Nou Lop, het is niet zo erg hoor. Het is gewoon een kleine rivier kreeft... seafood!
Asian people are almost always friendly. I've been to China and Vietnam and always had very good experience with the people.
As for food... well I prefer Chinese and Japanese cuisine, especially the noodles. The cuisine I didn't take a liking to was from Laos and Myanmar. Gross!
Liefs,
Laura
